ROLLSTONE STUDIOS & ARTIST COOPERATIVE- Closed October 1, 2015

The mission of  Rollstone Studios and Artist Co-op program is to offer residents of Fitchburg and neighboring communities opportunities to participate in the arts  and to provide an environment in which working artists can develop and share their creativity.  Rollstone Studios is open to the public Thursday through Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm and operates as a retail outlet and gallery where artists can consign, exhibit their work, and provide workshops to the public. Rollstone Studios also features more than 30 consignor artists in a variety of visual arts media representing the North Central MA. region. For information about each resident artist, consignment artists and events, visit Rollstone Studios website www.rollstonestudio.com

PATHWAYS - Public Art Project

Pathways was central to the community's effort of celebrating the Gateway to downtown, as well as a beginning contribution to the creative and economic growth in the Fitchburg community. There were two goals for the project. The first was to create a sculpture that was both reflective of Fitchburg's rich history while simultaneously contemporary and marking the entrance to the historical and cultural downtown. The second goal was to execute the project as a community public art project—to actively engage many diverse sectors of the community in many different settings.  Learn more about this project here.

DOWNTOWN PAINT-IN

"Preserving a Sense of Place through the Eyes of the Artist" is the Fitchburg Cultural Alliance signature artist event of the year! Concieved and coordinated by Ellen DiGeronimo, artists set up their easels in and around the downtown area to capture historic Fitchburg - the H.M Francis architecture, the beauty of Crocker Field and the Nashua River. The event culminates in a public reception at Rollstone Studios.  After five years of paint-ins, the FCA is holding a Downtown Paint-In Retrospective Gala to celebrate in honor of its founder Ellen DiGeronimo and Fitchburg's 250th Anniversary.  Painting of Nashua River by Scott Niemi
