In the Fall of 2023, we celebrated 45 years of the Fitchburg Cultural AThe arts have always been a fixture of Fitchburg and North Central Mass. Theater, music, dance, and visual art have long been a part of this region’s daily life and aspirations. In 1978, a group of local leaders came together to celebrate these creative expressions as well as build a sense of common purpose and collaboration with one another and the community at large. They created the Fitchburg Cultural Alliance.
On November 4, 2023 we celebrated the 45th anniversary of this partnership with friends, some art, and your support of the Fitchburg Cultural Alliance. We also launched a Creative Hall of Fame to tell the story of the creatives who made music, dance, paintings, and community happen. Our inaugural members are two women who have given time, energy, and spirit to the Fitchburg Cultural Alliance, Ellen DiGeronimo and Jennifer Jones.
Thank you to Mayor Stephen DiNatale and the office of Senator John J. Cronin for citations to our special guests. Thank you to the FCA board and members, our event committee, The Finicky Fork Catering Company, Ukulele J, Eddy's Music, The Thurston Consort, and the staff at the Fitchburg Senior Center for making a delicious, beautiful evening.
This event was a heartfelt assembly of people who appreciate Fitchburg as well as the arts, and give their time and energy to make things happen. Because of these friends and supporters, we met the goal for our first Creative Hall of Fame celebration.
We look forward to another Hall of Fame Celebration in the fall of 2024 with a Broadway Ball. We hope you will join us.
This event provided critical support for the Fitchburg Cultural Alliance and Main Street Studios. If you were unable to attend but would still like to support us, we hope you will consider a gift or becoming a member.
