The Fitchburg Cultural Alliance is involved in many projects within the community. We see ourselves as an “incubator” for new projects with a focus on revitalizing downtown Fitchburg by emphasizing the arts, architecture, history and culture of our residents and city. Many of the projects the FCA has incubated are now very successful annual events such as the October Blacksmith Forge In and Festival. The Annual Downtown Paint-in: "Preserving a Sense of Place through the Eyes of the Artist " is the Fitchburg Cultural Alliance signature artist event of the year! Artists set up their easels in and around the downtown area to capture historic Fitchburg - the H.M Francis architecture, the beauty of Crocker Field and the Nashua River. The event culminates in a public reception for the artists at the Johnsonia Art Gallery.

Annual KIDZ PARTYPALOOZA at Riverfront Park! DON'T MISS IT!!
This is an event for kids and about kids in a big way! It is a time to celebrate the achievements of our students during summer youth programs featuring games, music, performances, art activities, food and kites! The FCA has been the major resource for bringing high quality performing artists to this event through grants with the Massachusetts Cultural Council, National Endowment for the Arts and Fitchburg Cultural Council. The event is a partnership with the following supporters:

NEW! The Fitchburg Cultural Alliance Janet Cragin YOUTH ARTS Award.

The Fitchburg Cultural Alliance (FCA) is pleased to announce the return of a program to recognize Fitchburg Public School youth in grades 6 through 8 for their outstanding achievement in the visual arts, performing arts and literary arts. The FCA started a similar program several years ago. We are bringing back this program in honor of Janet Cragin of the Stratton Playhouse, a founding member of the FCA and dedicated servant to the arts for more than 35 years. The primary mission of the FCA is to promote the rich and diverse cultural activities that exist in the community. Recognizing and supporting youth in the arts has always been a major focus. For ten years the Fitchburg Cultural Alliance has provided scholarships for more than 60 middle school youth to attend the Boston Symphony Orchestra Days in the Arts Summer Camp program in collaboration with the Fitchburg Public Schools and the BSO. The FCA Janet Cragin Youth Arts Award will be given out to youth who demonstrate artistic and creative ability in the arts.

DARTS “Days in the Arts” Summer Camp Scholarships for Youth. Each year FCA provides scholarships for up to eight 6th grade students to attend a 5-day overnight camp operated by the Boston Symphony Orchestra located in the beautiful Berkshires. The FCA has sponsored more than 40 students over the past 6 years who would not have the resources to have this amazing experience! Click here to see 2008 DARTS students
